Mid-Atlantic Affordable Housing Management Association

A key benefit to being a member of the Mid-Atlantic AHMA is the access to information and advocacy from our partner in Washington, D.C., the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). Members (regular) of the Mid-Atlantic AHMA are automatically "subscription" members of NAHMA. NAHMA is the leading voice for affordable housing, advocating on behalf of multifamily property managers and owners whose mission is to provide quality affordable housing. As an advocate for professional standards for affordable housing providers, NAHMA holds a unique position in the industry.  By working with NAHMA, we have greater clout on Capitol Hill and with local regulatory agencies which enhances the influence Mid-Atlantic AHMA has on regulations that affect all of us.

Our partnership with NAHMA also provides our members access to the following services and benefits:

NAHMA Professional Recognition
Affordable housing providers who create safe, attractive, well-maintained properties that are neighborhood assets deserve to be recognized for their outstanding achievements. That's why NAHMA created the Communities of Quality (COQ) National Recognition and Awards program. When your property meets NAHMA's high standards in physical maintenance, financial management, programs and services, employee credentials and other criteria, it becomes a member of an elite group. COQ  properties qualify for regional and national awards, a listing in an online registry of the country's top affordable properties, and the use of COQ marketing materials. In particular, the annual COQ Awards competition recognizes superior properties in five areas: Exemplary Family Development, Exemplary Development for the Elderly or Disabled, Exemplary Deveopment for Residents with Special Needs, Exemplary Development for Single Room Occupancy Housing and Outstanding Turnaround of a Troubled Property.
